Inspired by “The Goddesses”, Madame Yevonde’s series of portraits of British society ladies, Jenny Packham’s spring 2015 bridal collection features soft colours, exquisite embroidery and beautiful embellishments. She used fabrics such as delicate French lace, soft chiffon, fluttery tulle and luxury silk to create her column shaped timeless gowns influenced by the 1930’s and the Edwardian era.
A blue sky with fluffy white clouds was Packham's backdrop for her romantic dresses in champagne, ivory, caramel, buttermilk, platinum, ivory and sepia tones. The collection features crystal embellishments, fine beadwork, celestial capes and tiered hemlines. The show was opened with a gorgeous long-sleeved gown and was followed by a range of styles designed for different types of brides.
There were lovely cap sleeved dresses with crystal embellishments, fabulous strapless dresses and even A-line cocktail style frocks for modern brides. Natural make-up done by Laura Mercier was a perfect match to this utterly romantic collection and the hair was just angelic with low ponytails and crystal bands which complimented glittery gowns.
Each look is named after a superstar woman and we loved the “Hepburn” gown with draped neckline and crystal bow on the waist, short-sleeved “Grace” with crystal studded illusion neckline, and breathtaking “Garbo” dress with cut out shoulders and delicate floral embellishments.
